Staff Bios

Thomas A. Solom is president, CEO and founder of Metropolitan Abstract Services, Inc. He is a licensed abstractor and previously licensed real estate agent by the State of Minnesota. He has over 25 years of title, abstracting and exam experience. He personally reviews all files that are complicated in nature, both residential and commercial. He has been involved in many large-scale abstracting projects including: the Mall of America, the Minneapolis International Airport, and numerous highway expansions. Throughout his career, Tom has elevated the research standards of title companies, and he is well known and respected in the industry. He graduated from North Hennepin Community College with a paralegal degree and attended the University of Minnesota.

Erika C. Solom is vice president and office manager of Metropolitan Abstract Services, Inc. She has over 25 years of corporate legal and real estate experience. Her background includes corporate real estate transactions, mortgage foreclosures, insurance and employment law. She directly supervises the company's quality control procedures and manages the office including accounting, personnel and insurance matters. She graduated from North Hennepin Community College with a paralegal degree and attended Metropolitan State University.

Vicki J. Buck is the abstractor of counsel for Metropolitan Abstract Services, Inc. She retired with over 30 years of abstracting and title insurance production experience. She was well known in the title industry for her extensive knowledge and abilities in creating new residential and commercial abstracts, master abstract building for development and achieved an expert level rating for her understanding and drawing complex legal descriptions.  Our abstracting team still consults with Vicki as needed, on files complex in nature.

Karen L. Fjeldseth is a licensed abstractor for Metropolitan Abstract Services, Inc.  Karen has over 20 years of title insurance, abstracting and exam experience.  She graduated from North Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science degree.  She has been a licensed abstractor for 10 years and has a proficient understanding of legal descriptions and how to draw them out.

Alexander S. Mitchell is an abstractor for Metropolitan Abstract Services, Inc.  Alex has 5 years of supervisory/teaching and swim instructor experience.  He graduated from The University of Minnesota Twin Cities with a Bachelor of Arts, Philosophy degree.  He successfully completed the Principles of Abstracting and the Reading & Drawing Legal Descriptions courses offered by the Minnesota Learning Group, as well as our in-house legal drawing coursework.

Sara M. Stemper is the lead customer service, production and accounting assistant for Metropolitan Abstract Services, Inc. Sara has over 18 years of professional accounting, customer service and insurance experience. She graduated from Alexandria Technical College with a degree in business administration.

Rebecca R. Eckerman is a customer service and production assistant for Metropolitan Abstract Services, Inc.  Rebecca has 5 years of professional legal office, paralegal and customer service experience.  She graduated from North Hennepin Community College with an Associate of Science Paralegal degree.

Carissa J. Mooney is a customer service and production assistant for Metropolitan Abstract Services, Inc.  Carissa has 8 years of professional customer service, data entry, inventory, manufacturing, retail and hospitality experience.
